Workflow PDF email attachment

Hi All,
I have a created a custom workflow which sends pdf files to the user.I created a document attribute and attached to the message.Im able to see the pdf file in the application notofiaction but not in the email as attachment.any clue why Im not seeing the atytachement in my email?
