Populateing Parameter values interdependent

Postby sreenu80 on Tue Oct 14, 2008 8:17 pm

Hi Friends,

We are facing one problem. We are have one report with four parameters(A,B,C,D) All the parameters are having LOV's.
1)If i pass value to A parameter related values are need to populate in the B Parameter LOV. If i am not passiing any value(i mean null) to A parameter i need to able to select all the value from from B parameter LOV.
2) If i pass value to C related value needs to populate in the D parameter LOV and i can able to select the values from the values form the D parameter LOV. If i change any value in the D parameter respect value need to get populate in the C parameter of null needs to populate.

This is my requirement. Please help on this.

Thanks

Hi,
What type of value sets u r using for LOVs?
I have a idea for A and B parameters.....
If you don't select anything then u need to select all of the B parameter right?

if they were table type then we can create a view for the two value sets....

we include 'ALL' word in the two views ok... and make two parameters A,B mandatory....

if user don't want to select anything in A then he will be forced to select 'ALL' value

and the B param value set chages corresponding to it ....again 'ALL' will come on the B param.

and have a lexical parameter in the sql statement of the report and depending on the A,B change that in the after parameter form trigger...

hope u got the point....

Let us know how u have done it....

Thanks,
Kittu.
