During our Fusion Applications DBA trainings, we get asked a question that is very common.
Hey, you guys are teaching us all this on Linux, what if the real life use case is to use Oracle Solaris ? Do we need to take care of anything when installing Fusion Financials on Solaris? The answer is ...Yes
Firstly, for SPARC 64 bit, you must set some JVM parameters to change default string size
For better performance of Oracle Fusion Applications on Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-Bit), append the '-XX:StringTableSize=60013' JVM parameter for all the managed servers in all domains by editing the fusionapps_start_params.properties file located under
APPLICATIONS_CONFIG/domains/<host>/<DomainName>/config for each domain:
1. Append the following JDK flag to all the SunOS-sparc.memoryargs managed server properties (after flag -XX:ParallelGCThreads):
-XX:StringTableSize=60013
2. Confirm that this parameter is appended to the existing value of fusion.default.SunOS-sparc.memoryargs property and to all the Solaris Sparc cluster specific managed server properties. For example:
fusion.default.SunOS-sparc.memoryargs=<existing values> -XX:StringTableSize=60013
fusion.PayableCluster.SunOS-sparc.memoryargs=<existing values> -XX:StringTableSize=60013
3. Save the fusionapps_start_params.properties file Oracle Fusion Applications 11g Release 7 (11.1.7) 60
Oracle Fusion Applications Technical Release Notes
4. Restart all the domains.
