What is Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER)

In simple words, Oracle Enterprise Repository is the replacement for Oracle EBS eTRM. This repository contains detailed information about Fusion Application schema tables, web services, view, reports etc. OER instance is always recommended as OER provides customized service metadata which can be used for overall SOA governance as well as for simple services for Fusion Applications (cloud/SaaS or on-premise options)

Oracle Enterprise Repository is a Web site available to everyone for use and is a standalone catalog of technical information about Oracle’s Application products. Main purpose of OER is to facilitating the creation of Application to Application integrations and also helps in creating extensions and customizations

OER separates technical components by various attributes, with the key ones being Name, Type, and Logical Business Area (LBA).  LBA is the lower level of the Fusion Applications Taxonomy and is used to tag each technical object with the feature and product that it is owned by and associated with.

The general keyword search actually uses indexes of all the fields/attributes associated with an entry.

Basically it is a metadata repository which acts as a single source of truth for information surrounding SOA assets and their dependencies for:

  • Assets Category and Grouping
  • Relationship management
  • SOA governance.

How I can access Oracle Enterprise Repository
OER can be accessed using following link.

URL is -https://fusionappsoer.oracle.com/oer/

Fusion OER can be access using "Guest" user.

We can use Oracle Enterprise Repository for Oracle Fusion Applications to get technical reference information about types of assets, for example tables, events, services, and scheduled processes etc. This information helps during any phase of application's life cycle, especially when we integrate Fusion with other applications.

Examples of what’s in the Repository

What the repository provides for each asset depends on the asset type, some examples are:

  • Classification schemes that show the scenarios in which we use the asset
  • Policies for using the asset
  • Architecture and topology diagrams
  • Lists of predefined assets, for example all the lookups for a given release
  • Links to other technical documentation
