Question on TRU

Hi, I have a question on Tax Reporting Unit (TRU).

Is TRU same as GRE in EBS?If yes, in EBS you can have multiple States/State Tax Rules under one GRE. How come in Fusion Payroll you can have only one state per TRU? My current client presence is in 44 states but we have only 5 GREs. In Fusion do I have to create 44 TRUs?Same state can be under multiple GRE in EBS. In Fusion Payroll what do we do?

    Hello,

    TRU is created based on how many registrations you make with the government authorities at the state level. If you have presence in multiple states and if you have registration in multiple states then you need to create those many TRUs. For example if you have your company presence in 5 states and you do registration with one state authority then you should create 1 TRU and for remaining states you need to create work location and assign them to employees based the state in which you are hiring the employees.
