Oracle Fusion HCM Coexistence – Part 4

As highlighted in the previous part of the Oracle HCM Coexistence blog series, Oracle provides the following tools to support integration:
- File-Based Loader (FBLs) for importing data into Fusion.
- HCM Extract for exporting data from Fusion.
File-Based Loaders in Oracle Fusion HCM Coexistence
FBLs in Fusion are designed to load data from any source system, regardless of its origin. Whether the source system is PeopleSoft, EBS, or another platform, FBLs can handle the data as long as it is formatted to meet the required specifications. This flexibility ensures smooth data loading into the Fusion environment.

HCM Extract in Oracle Fusion HCM Coexistence
HCM Extract is a tool used for outbound data extraction from Fusion. It comes with pre-built, seeded extracts, allowing users to extract information such as compensation changes, assignment updates, and bonus adjustments. Additionally, if the delivered extracts do not meet specific business needs, customers can create customised extracts tailored to their requirements.
This utility is highly configurable, enabling functional consultants to define the data needed. HCM Extracts can be scheduled to run daily or at specific intervals. The tool supports multiple output formats, including HTML, CSV, XLS, PDF, and RTF, and the extracted data can be sent to destinations like email, fax, printers, SFTP servers, or HTTP servers.
One of its key features is the ability to create delta extracts, which capture only changes made since the last extraction. This approach minimises redundant data transfers, ensuring recipients receive updates efficiently without the need for full data exports every time.
Conclusion
Oracle provides powerful tools such as the File-Based Loader and HCM Extract to support seamless integration within the Fusion environment. These tools allow for efficient data import and export, enabling organisations to tailor data flows according to their specific needs. With the flexibility to handle various source systems and the ability to create customised or delta extracts, Oracle Fusion ensures smooth and efficient integration processes.
