Introduction

I hope most of you must have heard a lot about the newsfeed user experience introduced in Release 13 Update 18B (further enhancements expected in update 18C and 19A) and I must say that as an end user one is bound to be in love with the new look.

A lot of unnecessary cluttering has been removed and only releveant information is presented for an end user to take action.

In this example we will demonstrate “How to Create a New Employee” and how does the associated screens look like. So let’s get started.

Assuming that one has created and enabled the pre-requisite profile options to enable Newsfeed feature one would land at below page once he/she logs in (Luckily am using a Cloud Demo Enviornment and all the setups are in place already) :

Next, we will click on “Hire an Employee” link and the below screen opens up (We would see that the new screen will have all mandatory fields prefixed by an ‘*’ and also the hire date will be prepopulated with the current system date)

Once we populate the fields and click on “Continue” it would take us to the next screen where we have to choose which of the associated areas are we interested to populate (for this exmple we would select “Add Manager Info”, “Add Salary” and “Add Compensation”)

Once we click on Continue we can see following screen (where we need to populate details and submit)

Now the important point here is that only one of the many sections displayed opens up at a particular time. Once an individual completes populating all fields of a specific section they can click on continue and the cursor moves to the next section. Post all the sections are entered ne can click submit and the transaction goes to next stage (completion stage in this example)

After we submit we can search for employee (using “Person Management’)
