In our previous blog, we incorporated the Headcount by Department analysis into the HR Dashboard. Now, we’ll take it further by demonstrating how to create a Cross-Subject Area Analysis in Oracle Fusion Transaction Business Intelligence, enabling you to pull data from multiple subject areas for deeper insights.

You can create analyses that combine data from multiple subject areas, referred to as a cross-subject area analysis. In this example, we’ll walk through the steps of creating a real-time analysis using multiple subject areas to provide deeper insights through cross-subject area analysis.

1. Navigate to the Reports and Analytics work area, then select Browse Catalog.
2. Choose New and click on Analysis. 
3. In the Select Subject Area window, choose Workforce Management – Worker Assignment Real Time. 
4. In the Criteria tab, under the Subject Area region, open the Department folder. 
5. Drag the Name into the Selected Columns area. 
6. Expand the Worker Assignment folder. 
7. Drag HeadCount to the right of the Department Name column in the Selected Columns area. 
8. Click Add/Remove Subject Areas in the top-right corner of the Subject Areas region. 
9. From the Add/Remove Subject Areas window, select Compensation – Salary Details Real-Time and click OK. 
10. Under the Compensation – Salary Details Real Time folder, expand the Salary folder. 
11. Drag Annualised Salary to the right of the Head Count column in the Selected Columns area. 
12. Again, click Add/Remove Subject Areas in the upper-right corner. 
13. In the Add/Remove Subject Areas window, select Workforce Management – Worker Assignment Event Real-Time and click OK. 
14. Expand the Legal Employer folder in the Subject Areas region. 
15. Drag the Name to the Selected Columns area. 
16. Open the Business Unit folder, and drag the Business Unit Name to the Selected Columns area. 
17. Click the Results tab to view the analysis output.
