I see General Ledger data is secured through job roles, data access sets, and segment value security rules. Can you elaborate technically in detail how GL Security works in Fusion General Ledger for reporting or any document related to it.

    Hello,

GL security is controlled first of all by job roles.
Roles will allow you to access the tasks or functions you can perform. It will also give you access to run the reports.

Then you have data access sets. Data access sets tells the system, you can perform those tasks or functions on which set of data.
If the job role allows you to post journals , or run journals reports
data access set will define for which ledger you can post the journals or for which ledger the data will be displayed in the reports.

Further to this you can control security in GL by configuring security rules.

Security rules - are used to restrict access to certain values for that specofoc users.
Like for example you have access to XYZ ledger and this ledger grants you access to 3 BSV/LE.
But you want user to perform/view only 1 BSV.

Then we can define security rules and restrict the user from preforming or even viewing any data for the other two company codes.

NOTE - Security rules assigned to a user are applicable on the transaction entry screen and also on the reports.
