This article will helps to understand all about Fusion co-existence mapping now available in Oracle R12.2.4 version. We will also try to understand about what is FAH in a Coexistence Scenario and Applications Unlimited General Ledger (AU-GL).

What is Fusion Accounting Hub (FAH) in a Co-existence Scenario?

Co-existence is the term used for the implementation of a Fusion General Ledger which is fully integrated with an existing Applications Unlimited General Ledger (AU-GL). Co-Existence can take place in number of different forms and one can expect different scenarios here. Applications Unlimited (AU) is commonly used term for current (Pre Fusion) releases of Oracle's financial products including E-Business Suite (EBS) and PeopleSoft (PSFT).

How to setup the Fusion to EBS Co-Existence Ledger Mapping Setups in R12.2.4?
In Oracle EBS R12.2.4, navigate to the General Ledger menu option entitled Fusion Coexistence Mapping as shown in below screen shot-

The menu option in R12.2.4 has two functions: Ledger and Calendar, which are used to map the components for integration between the E-Business General Ledger and the Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub. When users configure set ups on this page, they will be able to select the Accounting Hub ledgers from a list of values. Here the concept of Golden Gate plays important role which brings the values from the Accounting Hub to the E-Business Suite instance.

What is Fusion Accounting Hub (FAH)?
Fusion Accounting Hub (FAH) consists of Fusion Subledger Accounting (SLA) and Fusion General Ledger (GL). As we all know now that SLA provides a centralized, user-definable, rule-based accounting engine that helps to create accurate actual accounting representations for any Subledger, which is then transferred to Fusion GL. Within Fusion GL the data will reside in a GL Balances table and the Essbase Cube with which it is synched with. Essbase provides multi-dimensional Financial Reporting, Analysis and Drilldown.

What is FAH in a Coexistence Scenario?
In a Coexistence scenario, Fusion General Ledger will integrate with an existing Applications Unlimited General Ledger (AU GL). As mentioned earlier, Applications Unlimited (AU) is commonly used term for current (Pre Fusion) releases of Oracle's financial products including E-Business Suite (EBS) and PeopleSoft (PSFT). So customers will continue to utilize existing AU functionality to create and transfer accounting representations to their existing respective General Ledger's. Then each AU GL will be fully integrated within Fusion Accounting Hub to the Fusion General Ledger. Remember that, Fusion SLA is not used in this Coexistence scenario.

How is data transferred from AU GL to Fusion General Ledger?
Transfer between AU GL and Fusion GL happens in two parts.
1. Transfer to Interface Tables
2. Import to Fusion

Key points-
Standard co-existence functionality transfer balances from R12.2.4 to Fusion GL once the Ledger mapping is completed.
Drill through functionality in Fusion GL journal inquiry page launches the account inquiry page in R12.2.4 after manually entering period, currency, ledger and accounting range to query. Users’ needs to log in to R12.2.4 by their R12 credential and after that account inquiry page will get launched.

Just to add that there is a product called Fusion Accounting Hub Reporting Cloud Service (FAHRCS) which allows coexistance with EBS 12.1.3 GL
https://cloud.oracle.com/accounting-hub-reporting-cloud
EBS is used for transactions, but reporting should be mostly done in FAHRCS.
Essentialy what is described above in the article but with additional steps (EBS patching) R 12.1.3. is also supported
