Hello

We use OIM-Oracle Identity Manager as single sign on and we also use Oracle EBS R12.    Oracle EBS R12 password reset and user enable& disable is managed by OIM.  When someone leave company , employee's user in OIM is disabled and based on it, Oracle EBS user is automaticaly disabled by OIM.    We wanted to  know integration  between Oracle Identity Manager and Oracle EBS R12.  How OIM make Oracle EBS user disabled when OIM user disable.    Thank you in advance

Regards

Vipul

Hi,

Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) is a comprehensive identity and access management solution that can integrate with various applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12, to manage user accounts and access. When it comes to disabling Oracle EBS R12 users through OIM, it typically involves the following steps:

  1. Integration Configuration: OIM must be configured to integrate with Oracle EBS R12. This integration typically involves setting up connectors, adapters, or custom code to communicate with Oracle EBS R12's user management system. OIM will need to understand how to interact with EBS in terms of user account management.
  2. User Lifecycle Events: OIM allows administrators to define policies and rules for managing the lifecycle of user accounts. This includes creating, modifying, enabling, disabling, or deleting user accounts. When a user is disabled in OIM, it triggers an event.
  3. Event Handlers: Within OIM, event handlers or connectors are used to react to specific events like disabling a user. In this case, when a user is disabled in OIM, an event handler or connector configured for Oracle EBS R12 will be triggered.
  4. Propagation to Oracle EBS R12: The event handler or connector responsible for Oracle EBS R12 will translate the user disable event from OIM into the corresponding action in EBS R12. This usually involves sending requests or commands to the EBS system to disable the user account there.
  5. User Account Disablement: Once the request is received by EBS R12, it will disable the corresponding user account. The specific mechanism for disabling an account in EBS R12 may involve changing the user's status, locking the account, or some other method depending on the EBS configuration.
  6. Logging and Auditing: OIM typically logs and audits these actions to maintain a record of when and why a user was disabled, ensuring compliance and security.
  7. Synchronization: OIM may also have synchronization processes to ensure that the status of user accounts in EBS R12 is always up-to-date with OIM. This means that when changes are made in EBS R12 directly (outside of OIM), they may be synchronized back to OIM as well.

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you for your detailed explanation

I would like to understand what setup/process/functionality involved in this intergartion on Oracle EBS R12 side?

Is this any place where we can see and confirm if intergration is working fine in Oracle EBS R12?

Is this way on Oracle EBS R12 side to disable or enable this integration?

Thank you in advance
