Objective:

This training article is intended to provide step by step implementation of Inventory organization (IO). In the first part we will see the prerequisite setup for IO and the configuration of Inventory org in the second part.

Inventory Organization (IO):

Inventory Organization (IO) can be a physical or logical unit. It can be warehouse where we can maintain all the inventories which will follow some shift and have some schedule. Inventory organization is always specific to a legal entity.

Prerequisite setup for IO:

As we have discussed that the Inventory Organization will follow some shift and have some schedule. So, before configuring IO we need to define few prerequisite setup like Shifts, workday pattern and schedules. In order to configure the same Navigate>Procurement>Define common applications configuration for Procurement> Define Enterprise structure for procurement > Define facilities for Procurement> Manage Facility Shifts

 

Click on Create Icon

Create time shifts let say for 8 hrs and click on save and Close

The next step is to create Workday pattern. For that click on Manage facility Workday patterns

 

Click on Create Icon

Give the name of WP and click on add button

 

Mention the start day and the end day. In this case we have chosen 5 days a week. Attach the shift already created. Click on save and close.

The next step is to manage the schedule. For that click on Manage facility Schedules

 

Click on Create Icon

 

Name the schedule and click on add icon

Attach the workday pattern created. We can also create exceptions which would exclude leaves if we require. Click on

Save and close.
