Hi, I have a scenario in EBS R12 to implement.

One BG, One Ledger, One Legal Entity, but 30+ retail outlets are there.

There are 30 outlets, need to have P&L for each outlet wise. What would be the best COA structure to define. Do I need to have Balancing Segment at Company level or Outlet level?

If we have 30+ OU, then 30+ Inventory Orgs needed but not feasible to manage while period closing. Suppose 30+ orgs are defined, is there any way to close all 30+ INV Orgs at one shot?

Thanks

Hi Iqbal,

Here's what our SME says:

The best practice is to create retail outlets as cost centers, it will facilitate you to track the expense and revenues for each cost center (P&L). We will not recommend to create the retail outlets as Balancing segment as we do not have any regulatory or reporting requirement to prepare Balance sheets based on retail outlets.

if you don't have any security requirements between the retail outlets and if there is going to be a centralized P2P operations, then you can go with 1 Operating unit for all retail outlets. we cannot close the period for all organization at one go. it is not feasible.

Thanks & Regards
