Objective:
We are going to discuss about the error that mostly occur while installing SOA 11g suite.
When we try to install SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0 on Linux Environment, While doing the prerequisite checks, we might get some errors with respect to operating system packages.
If there is error while checking the recommended operating system, there there will be a red cross sign instead of green tick sign, with the error details in the log below.
How to resolve the 2 errors that can be seen above:
1) Checking compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-69.el6.i686 >>Not found
Solution:
With root user, run the following command:
#yum install compat-libstdc++-33
Or
#yum update compat-libstdc++-33
You might get this after you run above command:
[root@OL6 ~]# su -
[root@OL6 ~]# yum install compat-libstdc++-33
Loaded plugins: aliases, changelog, downloadonly, presto, refresh-packagekit,
: security, tmprepo, verify, versionlock
Setting up Install Process
Nothing to do
Note: If you see “ Nothing to do” after you run the command, that means the package is already installed on your system.
In that case, you can delete the package and try to re-install the package by using following command:
To remove the package
#rm -rf <name of the package>
For eg.
#rm -rf compat-libstdc++-33
Now reinstall the package by using the following command:
#yum install compat-libstdc++-33
This can solve the issue.
2) Checking libgcc-4.4.4-13.el6-i686 >>>> Not found
Solution:
#yum install libstdc++-devel.i686
Or
#yum update libstdc++-devel.i686
64-bit OS by default only install 64-bit packages, but oracle software needs few 32-bit RPMS also as pre-requisites. You need to use package.i686.
NOTE: The above command “yum install libstdc++-devel.i686” can also solve other package errors.
The status of all the checks shows that there is no error and you can move forward with the rest of installation.
