Objective : Solution for the error  "The program cannot start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer" on Windows.

Solution:

Sometimes when starting/installing any application like SQL Developer on Windows you may face the error "tThe program cannot start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your compute. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem " .

To resolve this error we need to install  Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable which can be easily be downloaded from below links:

For 32 bit: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5555

For 64 bit: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14632

Usually the application that misses the dll indicates what version you need - if one does not work, simply install the other

Once you install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable your issue will be resolved .
