Post-Installation Steps
Source Files
The first step in post installation is to copy the source files from the etl directory.
Why do we need to do copy the files?
These source files are also a source of data along with your source instance. For example to load group accounts from your instance you would be modifying the file file_group_acct_codes_ora.csv to reflect your organizations group accounts. So all the files that would be used to extract data along with the source system have to be modified .
For this navigate to
BI_Oracle_Home/biapps/etl/data_files
Here you will notice the different directories.
One of them is the source file (src_files). The source file in turn has several directories with the different source instance names and also has some.csv files as in the screen shot below.
In my example since the source instance is EBS12_2 I will be copying only the EBS_12_2 to my new folder chg_files. I will also be copying the .csv files that are as shown above (eg::file_mcal_cal_d.csv)since the path I specify will be referring to chg_files and no longer to the src_files. If you do not copy the generic .csv files ,while doing domain load /data loads you will get errors stating file_dual.csv and file_unspsc.csv files as missing.
So as you can see in the screen shot above I have copied all the source files belonging to EBS_12_2 to the chg_files location along with the other .csv files.
In the next article I will cover configuring the source system in BIACM.
