Auditing is the important feature provided by the OIM. All the companies needs to maintain their audit data and they revise their audit data regularly.
OIM has table named as UPA which stores the data related with the audit.
When user make any changes in their profile all the changes are stored in the UPA table as the snapshot.
Somes time you may find that the UPA table is null or from some point in time no snapshot has been genrated or after doing any changes in user profile attribute UPA table size remains the same(Column number remains the same).
This is a known issue in OIM. In this article you will learn how you can make Oracle Identity Manager to begin populating the UPA table to capture audit data.
To start the auditing in OIM and populating data in UPA table do the following steps:
1) Go to the $OIM_HOME/bin and run GenerateSnapshot.sh file as ./GenerateSnapshot.sh
2)It will ask for the credential gives the OIM credential and in last enter "yes"
it will generate the current snapshot of the all the user present in OIM.
3) Go to OIM sysadmin console and click on search scheduler
4) Search for the "Issue Audit Message" scheduler and run this scheduler.
Now do any changes in any user and run the "Issue Audit Message" and UPA table will get populated with the changed user another snapshot.
