Creating Custom Fields for Contact
Add field to Simplified UI and Desktop UI Pages
Note: Create and active sandbox before starting the following configurations
Navigator > Customization > Application Composer
Select Application Common > Standard Objects > Contact > Fields
Click on “Standard” you can see both custom and standard fields for this object.
Select field “Date of Birth”
Navigate to pages section in regional area choose Desktop Pages and then click Edit Create Contact Region.
Objects > Contact > Pages > Edit Create Contact Region
You can see “Date of Birth” field in the Available Fields box. Move it to Selected Fields.
Click on “Save and Close”
Click on “Pages” in regional area > Simplified Pages tab
Under Creation Page Layouts select “Default Layout” and then click “Edit”
Click “Edit” Option
Under Available Fields select “Date of Birth” field and it to “Selected Fields” then click on “Save and Close”
Sign in to the Simplified UI and click on “Contacts” icon then “Create Contact”.
Now Date of Birth filed can be seen
Go to Desktop UI and navigate to the create contacts page and verify “Date of Birth” fields available
Click Navigator > Customers > Create Contact
